What is Mulberry Paper?
Mulberry paper is made from the bark of the fast growing mulberry tree, grown in northern Thailand, Burma and Laos.
Once a year the bark is stripped, collected and the tree is cut back to the roots.
The tree quickly regrows in one year.

How is Mulberry Paper made?
The bark is soaked in water for around a week then boiled for 12 hours to further break down the fibres.
After this the fibres are mechanically churned to produce a soft pulp, which is bleached and then dyed to a specified colour.

The white or coloured pulp is poured by hand into a nylon gauze screen: the amount and thickness of the pulp defines the weight of the mulberry paper.
These frames are lowered into tanks of water, the pulp is then spread out evenly in the water to make a consistent mix.

The frames are lifted slowly out of the water trapping an even layer of the pulp onto the gauze.
Flowers and leaves are sometimes added to create a pattern in the paper.
The frames are dried in the sun: once dry the paper is peeled off the gauze mesh, leaving the characteristic deckled edge.

Is the mulberry paper acid free?
The process of making mulberry paper in general results in a ph neutral paper (also known as Acid free).
While our suppliers are reputable they do not test every batch of paper, but every batch that has ever been tested, has been acid free.
Lignin is commonly found in wood, especially in the core of a tree stem, but less in the bark.
Since mulberry paper is made from bark, it is termed as lignin free though this actually means that it contains little lignin.

What can I expect in a Kids Kraft Box?
Each box is unique, and contents will vary from box to box, but here are some of the activities you might find in your box:

Do I need anything extra or is my box complete?
Kids Kraft Boxes contain everything necessary to complete all projects in the box, except for scissors (where required) and water.

Can I custom make a box?
Yes, you can custom make a box, please email us to discuss your requirements.

I am hosting a birthday party, can you put something together for me?
Absolutely! Email us the details – how many children, boys/girls, age range, and how many activities you require, and we can put together a birthday box for you.

If I buy a number of boxes, can I get a discount?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a discount for bulk orders as all boxes are heavily discounted already.
Boxes are of tremendous value, and are guaranteed to provide your children with hours of fun!

I am running an afterschool program, would your Kids Kraft Box be suitable?
Each box contains a number of different activities, but they only contain one kit for each activity.
If you want to put together a specific kit for an afterschool (or other) kids program, please contact us directly to discuss your requirements.

Are there instructions with the activities?
Yes, all instructions (where needed) are provided.

How much is shipping?
From 1st January, 2009 all prices include shipping.

How long does it take to get my products?
Once you place your order, we fill the order within 24 hours and ship to you.
The shipping time depends on the value of your order.
For orders over $45, we will send via EMS (or equivalent carrier with similar or better service) and you will receive your orders within 3 or 4 working days.
For orders less than $45, we will send via Registered Post, this will take between 14 to 18 days to arrive at your preferred address.

Is there a minimum order amount?
There is no minimum order amount.

Do you ship to my door?
We will ship to the address that you advise when you check out.
The shipping company we use will deliver directly to that address.

How can I get a discount?
Periodically we send email notification of new items, special offers and discounts to people on our email subscriber (NEWS) list.
These discounts are only available to people on our Kraft Lounge email subscriber list, so SUBSCRIBE for FREE today to be notified of these great discounts and special offers! (This is the only purpose for which your email address will be used, and you can UNSUBSCRIBE at any time.)

Am I charged GST?
No GST is charged on products sold.

Am I charged import duty?
Customs will occasionally hold items for inspection, fumigation and quarantine.
These costs cannot easily be anticipated, and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
